Step 1: Locating your Poker Tracker Databases

From the pokertracker software under the "File" menu, select "Maintain Database Names".

The following window should pop up.

You should make note of the Database File locations. In order to upload your hand histories, you will need to find these files.

In this case, Poker Tracker has two databases "My First Poker Tracker Database" which is located in "C:\Program Files\Poker Tracker V2\ ptrack.mdb" and "Secondary Poker Tracker Database" which is located in "C:\Program Files\Poker Tracker V2\ptrack2.mdb". If you have never added any databases, the only database you wuold have would be "My First Poker Tracker Database".

Now that you've located the databases, you will need to compress them.

Step-by-Step Instructions for Mailing your hand history using Poker Tracker

All people who mail in their database by CD-ROM will receive reimbursement for shipping charges within the United States.

Step 1: Locating your Poker Tracker Databases

From the pokertracker software under the "File" menu, select "Maintain Database Names".

The following window should pop up.

You should make note of the Database File locations. In order to upload your hand histories, you will need to find these files.

If you have never added any databases, the only database you wuold have would be "My First Poker Tracker Database".

Now that you've located the databases, you will need to compress them.

Step 2: Compressing

It is very important that you compress your poker database file. Poker Tracker stores your hand histories in a Microsoft Access Database format (.mdb). Each database, when compressed is 5 times as small. So a 1 gigabyte file that would not be able to be fit on a cd-rom can be compressed to around 200 megabytes which would easily fit on a CD-ROM.

You can use various software to compress the file or files. Some of the most popular companies are Winzip and Ultimatezip. Links to their webpages to download their software if you do not already have it can be found below.

Step 3: Copying the files to a CD-ROM and mailing them

If the compressed database is able to fit on a CD-ROM (less than 700mb), you should be able to just burn the compressed file onto a cd rom. If you have any difficulty with this, consult a cd burning tutorial . If you still have difficulty or have a database that is larger than 700MB when compressed, our tech staff will be glad to help you and you may contact them here.

Once you've created the cd-rom, you may send the CD-ROM to:

Pokernomics
c/o The University of Chicago
Initiative on Chicago Price Theory
5807 S. Woodlawn Ave.
Chicago, IL 60637

We also recommend that you read our FAQ before sending us your hand histories.

In order to expedite the processing of your hand histories, it is also helpful to file out the following form. Since you are sending by cd-rom and not uploading your file, do not worry about attaching a file.
